We've always been collectors.

It all started with a longing for other people to see and feel the same things we do. Over time, that longing turned into a habit of noticing things, and then saving them.

You can see it everywhere if you look through our phones: photos on our camera rolls, places saved on our maps, objects we found at markets or spotted through a storefront and eventually brought home. Restaurants we still remember, furniture references we held onto, trips we still talk about. Everything had (and still has) a place with us, tucked away into its own little section or chapter.

After a while, we wanted somewhere for all of it to live. A library of our own, really. Somewhere to keep the things we've seen and held, the places we've been, and the experiences we've had. The more we added to it, the more it felt like something worth sharing, and Objects of Interest came together pretty organically from there.

To be honest, we spent a long time figuring out what exactly we wanted to put out into the world. Should we build furniture and objects for the home? Should we make the clothes we wanted to wear? Should we get into interior design? We even went as far as looking into architecture degrees.

Each idea was exciting on its own, but none of them could hold everything we loved. Boxing ourselves into one path felt like it would leave so much of what we'd collected behind. We needed more space than that.

What we realized along the way is that it was never really about the object itself. Whether it was a place, a meal, a building, a chair, or a landscape, what stayed with us was the feeling that came with it. That's the part we want to share. We hope someone else might see what we saw, and feel some of that same childlike wonder too.

So, where to start? Travel guides felt like the easiest way in. Exploration doesn't always have to be firsthand, and people have always been able to live through one another. Why else would stories be told and passed down for generations?

That's what we want OOI's releases to be: stories. And if you ever want to step into one yourself, we're happy to show you how.

For now, those stories begin as guides from our travels. Over time, they may turn into things we make or find, gatherings, places, or experiences we curate. We don't want to decide too early what OOI has to be. We'd rather give it the space to take its own form.

At the heart of it, we just want to keep paying attention. To notice the things that move us, hold onto them, and pass them along. Objects of Interest is where we've chosen to keep those things.

Whatever form they take, we hope they leave you wanting to look a little closer.
